"Why not take a swing at Tim, our own Rice?!" - Gale Edwards and Nick Morris once thought, and they took a swing... And how! They went and re-staged the classic rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. Not only did they stage it, they also filmed a video version of the remake. It turned out to be extremely entertaining: Judas in a leather jacket is jealous of the beardless Jesus in rap pants for Mary Magdalene and the highlighted Simon. And the neo-Nazi Pharisees, as always, are up to no good... Despite everything, the new version of JCS looks, and most importantly, listens to, quite organically. In a word, the video is recommended for viewing for those who still haven't seen the original 1973 film adaptation, and especially for those who know it from beginning to end. A screen version of one of the most famous rock operas, which is a series of alternating musical numbers and dramatic episodes, united by a common plot, only in the most general terms resembling the canonical one. A modern version of the rock opera of 2000.
