At the Nancy Jazz Pulsations festival, Dhafer Youssef once again demonstrates the full extent of his mastery of the oud—offering the perfect opportunity to discover his album *Shiraz*.
Coming from a family of muezzins, Dhafer Youssef blends jazz with the vocal and musical traditions of Tunisia. This unique signature style—a bridge spanning the shores of the Mediterranean—imbues each of his compositions with a sense of timelessness. As a singer, composer, and, above all, a virtuoso of the oud, Dhafer Youssef has an unparalleled ability to propel his instrument into uncharted territory, unlocking the full potential of an object that, in his hands, proves to be anything but traditional.
