Lucía Rey is one of the most distinctive and recognizable voices in contemporary Spanish jazz. A pianist and composer of remarkable sensitivity, she views music as a space for storytelling and exploration, where each piece unfolds as a sonic and emotional journey. As Adrián Besada writes in *Mas Jazz Magazine*: "Lucía Rey is not only a pianist of exceptional taste and technique but also a storyteller. She conceives her music through storytelling—sonic, visual, and conceptual—that permeates the entire creative and performance process." Trained at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and at international institutions such as the Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba, the Brooklyn Conservatory, and The Collective in New York—and mentored by masters like Barry Harris, Noah Haidu, and Bruce Barth—Lucía has developed a unique artistic voice that fuses contemporary jazz with flamenco, Mediterranean influences, classical tradition, and elements of Latin jazz. Her career has taken her to perform at some of the most prestigious festivals nationally and internationally, including the San Sebastián International Jazz Festival (Jazzaldia), Jazz Madrid, Jazz de Getxo, Jazz en la Costa, Havana’s Jazz Plaza, the Stuttgart Latin Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Park (Romania), the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, the Sicilia Jazz Festival, and Jazz Equinoxe (France), among others. Lucía Rey is currently presenting her latest project, *Nómadas*, an album nominated for Best Jazz Album at the Spanish Music Academy Awards and the +Músicas Awards, and winner of the Plataforma Jazz España Award. The pianist will be accompanied by Ander García on double bass and Alberto Brenes on drums, in a trio format acclaimed for its deep musical rapport, creative freedom, and expressive intensity.
