Bjorn Berge can move mountains with his acoustic guitars, he can challenge the toughest metalheads and release enormous energy. His guitar technique is extremely dynamic. His performance comes from his soul, his hands flying over the guitar make it an instrument that has never been heard before.
A show with Bjorn Berge is above all a performance and an impressive mastery of the 12-string guitar.
Bjorn Berge has been playing guitar and banjo since the age of 13 and has been passionate about music ever since. His career earned him the
reputation of being an exceptional guitarist. His "fingerpicking" is at an exceptional level and has made him a recognized artist on the European scene, as well as in Canada and the United States. Some say he is one of the world's leaders.
He started with his own bluegrass band in the mid 80's, but for the past 15 years he has been fully occupied with his solo career. He has released nine albums to date, 2 of which won the Norwegian Grammy "Spellemannsprisen".
On his new album, Berge wrote all the songs himself, except for two. Musically, he goes back a little more to the roots and follows the path laid out with his previous album "Fretwork" from 2009.
In recent years, he has made Europe his playground. He is a frequent guest of major jazz and blues clubs and festivals. His music is difficult to categorize because he combines several musical genres, but it can be placed in folk-blues, with elements of rock and funk. He mainly performs original songs, but also songs from other artists or bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Butler Trio, Joni Mitchell and Motorhead to name a few.
