The first half of this concert is inhabited by the figure of Mozart. Thomas Enhco takes advantage of his visit to Coutances to introduce us to the album Mozart Paradox, in which he enjoys revisiting some of the Austrian composer's greatest themes through improvisation. Under Thomas Enhco's fingers, the overture to Don Giovanni, the Mass in C, and A Little Night Music are tinged with jazzy and romantic influences.
In the wake of these Mozartian flights, Kevin Hays joins Thomas Enhco for a spectacular two-piano showdown. Together, the two musicians confront and combine their worlds and sensibilities, summoning Thelonious Monk, Robert Schumann, and other great pianistic figures. A veritable outpouring of black and white notes, where eras and continents collide, carried by two great figures of contemporary piano.
Filmed on May 29, 2025 at the Jazz sous les Pommiers festival, Coutances.
