Renowned New York bassist Marcus Miller, steeped in jazz and soul, delivers a generous performance to the audience at the TSF Jazz Chantilly Festival.
An exceptional multi-instrumentalist, Marcus Miller has collaborated with the greatest names in jazz and R&B: Miles Davis, of course, but also Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, and Luther Vandross.
Winner of two Grammy Awards, as well as a Victoire du Jazz in 2010, he was named a UNESCO Artist for Peace in 2013 and became a spokesperson for the Slave Route project. His humanitarian commitments inspired Afrodeezia, an album released in 2015, deeply rooted in the history of slavery and inspired by his travels across Africa.
We last met Marcus Miller in 2019, at the Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents festival. At the time, the bass genius introduced us to Laid Back—a delicious musical fusion blending trap, hip-hop, R&B, and gospel. Six years later, we're once again surprised by Marcus Miller's rebellious spirit with the same enthusiasm.
