Incognito is a British band founded in 1980. They made their debut in 1981 with the album Jazz Funk. In the early years they were mainly known in the English acid jazz scene. Their breakthrough came with the world hit Always there in 1991, which also meant the breakthrough for the Talkin' Loud label. They have released 16 albums, including a number of remixes. In 2019 the album Tomorrow's New Dream was released. The concept behind the band was to set up a jazz-soul-funk formation with alternating elements in terms of musicians and voices. The frontman of the band is Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick. In addition to being a guitarist and singer, he is also a producer and composer. Other notable band members include singers Tony Momrelle, Jocelyn Brown, Carleen Anderson, Imaani, Maysa Leak and Kelli Sae. Matt Cooper is also part of D*Note. In addition, the band's material appears to be a favorite for remixing, as has been done by Masters at Work, David Morales, Roger Sanchez and Jazzanova.
