With Anouch, André Manoukian pays a vibrant tribute to his grandmother, a survivor of the Armenian genocide. This eminently personal project - a link between classical music, jazz and Caucasian traditions - gave shape to an eponymous album published in 2022 on the PIAS label.
It is with his legendary mischief and generosity that André Manoukian delivers Anouch in a live configuration, on the occasion of his appearance at the Jazz sous les Pommiers festival. All the musical richness of Anouch is displayed there thanks to the talent of the pianist of course, but also that of Rostom Khachikian (duduk), Guillaume Latil (cello) and Mosin Kawa (tablas). To the notes of this quartet are added the voices of the Greek singer Dafné Kritharas and the Balkanes choir, specialized in Bulgarian a cappella polyphonies.
