La Chica cultivates a double family heritage: she is Venezuelan through her mother and French through her father. This mixed identity was nourished by a life spent in the Parisian district of Belleville and punctuated by trips to Merida, a city located in western Venezuela.
Chica's dual nationality fuels an abundant electro-pop, the first example of which was the song Oasis, published in 2015. In parallel with this solo project begun in 2013, La Chica also made herself known within 3SOMESISTERS - a explosive quartet mixing polyphonies, pop, electro and jazz.
Since Oasis, La Chica's melting-pot style has gained strength and spawned two albums: Cambio (2019) and La Loba (2020). A discography that the artist revisits on the piano in the foyer of the Opéra Comique. Stunning.
