It was in Havana and into a family of musicians that Ana Carla Maza was born. At a very young age, the young Cuban started music. If she started with the piano, it was quickly the cello that became her instrument of choice. After a first move to Spain, it was in Paris that the young woman set down her bags to join the Conservatory. A few years later, the musician launched a solo career and published Solo Acoustic Concert – her first album – in 2016.
In 2024, Ana Carla Maza's discography includes four albums. It was in particular Caribe, published in 2023, which motivated the Cuban woman’s appearance in front of the Flying Concerts audience. In this opus, the composer makes a new declaration of love for Latin America, its music and its female figures. A work both highly referenced and very personal where the musician moves from the solo cello to an entire Latin-jazz sextet.
