George Duke, born January 12, 1946 in San Rafael, California, and died August 5, 2013 (age 67) in Los Angeles, is an American pianist, keyboardist, and composer. His great discography is important in the (electric) evolution of jazz. Genius keyboards, he is a contemporary artist must in musical styles such as jazz, jazz-fusion, soul or funk. He has played with Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Billy Cobham, Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty, Tom Waits, Michael Jackson, Al Jarreau and Phil Collins. He is also a renowned producer in the United States.
He recorded with violinist Jean-Luc Ponty in 1969 and toured and recorded with Frank Zappa and his band The Mothers of Invention in 1970, then from 1973 to 1975, before launching his solo career the same year.
He will be touring the world and will impress all the styles of music he has worked with, as well as many artists.
