What were not already great, beautiful & exciting concerts in Ottensheim, musicians from all over the world, but one of the very big ones is still missing: Fred Frith! Now he comes to us for a solo concert! Fred Frith is one of the leading musicians of our time. The music professor, now retired from Mills College in California, has been playing an important role in European music history since the late 1960s, when he founded Henry Cow, a pioneering role in art rock, and then as the opening act of Pink Floyd acted. Lindsay Cooper, Dagmar Krause, the Art Bears and Robert Wyatt were important personalities / projects for Frith's career. His work in the band "Skeleton Crew" with the unfortunately deceased cellist Tom Cora and the harpist Zeena Parkins, as well as his phenomenal guitar quartet, which has been operating since the 80s, are also significant. At the beginning of the 90s, the groundbreaking film "Step across the Border" was released, a terrific film about music (or otherwise: a musical film) and about a truly special musical personality. Numerous other important cooperations took place, mention should be made here only the band "Naked City" with John Zorn, Bill Frisell, Wayne Horvitz and Joey Baron and his collaboration with the most outspoken Upper Austrian band Attwenger.
