Guano Padano born from a combination of musical sensibilities that unites the tight-knit couple Alessandro "Asso" Stefana (guitar) and Zeno de Rossi (drums), already known for the militancy in the groups of Vinicio Capossela, the double bass player and animator of the collective "El Gallo Rojo ", Danilo Gallo who with De Rossi shares various experiences and musical projects.
The music they offer is very rich in nuances, just like the sunset of one of those western movies that the three love so much and that immediately provided the main inspiration around which to bind: there are the Morriconian atmospheres of the films of Sergio Leone, but also the dozens of minor films that have marked an unrepeatable Italian film season. And then the desert rock, country, folk, cross jazz, blues obviously and even surf influences. A dreamy mixture that aims at a strange conjunction between the American roots and the tradition of northern Italy proposed by "three sought-after outlaws of frontier music on whose head now hangs an even higher"!
The second event, scheduled for 12 November, is an original project commissioned specifically for the Jazzflirt festival which will see the PAOLO ANGELI guitarist and the PASQUALE MIRRA vibraphonist for the first time.
Prodigy of the Sardinian guitar prepared with which he regularly performs live and creative visionary of avantgarde-jazz, Paolo Angeli has reached an undeniable maturity developing a style so personal as to constitute almost a musical genre in itself that combines Sardinian tradition, singing in Kings, improvisational practices, the passion for Fred Frith and Bjork with a truly unique free spirit. His creativity goes beyond this very personal musical style. To translate his original ideas into music, Angeli has developed a guitar model that allows him to go beyond the limits imposed by traditional six-string instruments.
Pasquale Mirra has a history that starts from pots, pans and tin drums, takes shape in the corridors of the conservatory, begins to materialize in the summer evenings of Ravello, and stands out thanks to the listening of some records. But it is a story that is just beginning because the vibraphone is a relatively young instrument and there is still a lot to experiment and invent. It has not yet been influenced by leaders but boasts a partnership with the great Hamid Drake that has lasted four years and excellent collaborations to literally shake their wrists.
