North Mississippi Allstars is a musical group of blues, rock and roll and jam sessions, created in 1996 in Hernando, Mississippi. The group consists of brothers Luther Dickinson (guitar and vocals) and Cody Dickinson (drums, keyboard) alongside Chris Chew (bass). Dickinson, in addition to playing the guitar, plays the "lowebow" (a string instrument whose resonator is formed by a pack of tobacco). Duwayne Burnside is the son of country blues musician R. L. Burnside and, after occasionally playing guitar with the group in jams and concerts, he ended up joining in 2004.
