The Newport Jazz Festival (in English: Newport Jazz Festival) is a jazz festival held in Newport, Rhode Island, United States since 1954. Newport has been the scene of some of the most remarkable performances of the jazz genre, including only the famous Miles Davis' Round Midnight (1955) and the equally famous sax solo d Paul in Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue EllingGonsalveston Duke Orchestra (1956), and live recordings as Miles & Monk at Newport. MceCoy Tyner and Ravi Coltrane Festival in Newport on 13 August 2005. The festival moved to New York City in 1972. From 1984 to 2008, was held under the title JVC Jazz Festival, and from 2009, JVC ceded it to CareFusion.
