Morris Holt (August 7, 1937 - February 22, 2013), better known as Magic Slim, was an American guitarist and blues singer. In 1955, Holt moved to Chicago to work as a bassist for Magic Sam, who gave him his nickname. He later changed instruments to play guitar in the band Mr. Pitiful and The Teardrops. Although the band lasted a short time, and Holt returned to Mississippi, in 1965 he returned to Chicago to reform the band as Magic Slim & the Teardrops
