An intimate and humorous look at the life and career of legendary blues pianist Alex Moore, a native of Dallas, Texas. Was the first African American to receive a National Heritage grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Moore learned to play the piano by looking at others and practicing whenever he had a chance. Because he had no formal training, Moore developed a distinctive style of improvised piano that included elements of blues, ragtime, barrelhouse, stride and boogie-woogie. His lyrics were both traditional and original and were a response to his playing the piano and until today. The film shows his dominion of the piano in a homage in his honor in the famous Majestic Theater - his last public performance.
