Guy Davis (12 May 1952) is an American blues singer, guitarist, banjo player and actor. He is the son of actors Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis. Davis says his blues music is inspired by the speech of southern grandmother. Although raised in the area of ??New York City, he grew up hearing stories of life in the rural south of their parents and especially their grandparents and influenced its way to develop their own stories and songs. Davis learned himself to play the guitar (never had patience to take formal lessons) and learned by listening and watching other musicians. His first exposure to the blues was in a summer camp in Vermont led by the brother of Pete Seeger, John Seeger, where he learned how to play the banjo.
