Harmonica Shah is a harpist, born in Oakland, California, in 1946. He spent part of his youth in Texas with his grandfather Sam Dawson, veteran harmonica player and guitarist, who recorded Alan Lomax. At 17 he was in Battle Creek, Michigan, to finish in the "Motor City" Detroit. In Battle Creek had the opportunity to see the bands of Buddy Guy and J.B. Hutto. Shah was advised by a street musician called Little Bobby to buy a harmonica and began a serious study of the blues. Later, I got down to work, he began to get to know emblematic Detroit musicians such as Eddie Little Sonny Burns or until introduced into a jam-sessions Uncle Jesse White.
