Five Ukrainian cities – Yalta, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Lviv and Kyiv, October 1 – 6, 2010 will host concerts of the Melvin Taylor Blues Band, an outstanding group from Chicago. The tour is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and takes place within special Embassy program “The American Music Series,” co-sponsored and organized by Jazz in Kiev Art Agency. In Lviv the musicians will present a concert as part of the “America Days” cultural program.

Melvin Taylor is an outstanding American guitarist and vocalist from Chicago, the recognized blues capital of the world. Taylor is not only a representative of traditional Chicago’s blues; he has developed his own guitar playing style, masterfully combining the virtuoso technique of the legendary Jimi Hendrix with the elegance of the jazz style of Wes Montgomery. Melvin Taylor has performed on stage with such legendary musicians such as BB King, Buddy Guy, George Benson and Carlos Santana.
