Recorded in concert by Blues Archive in 1999 during his first-ever visit to Oxford, England, this performance captures Rodolfo “Rudy” Rotta , one of Italy’s most celebrated blues guitarists — delivering his unmistakable blend of blues spiced with funk and soul.
Blues Italia captures Rotta at his electrifying best — blistering guitar runs, a voice full of grit and character, and the kind of commanding stage presence that made him a favorite on blues stages worldwide. It’s a vivid document of an artist who brought his own distinctly Italian energy to a deeply American art form.
