Connie Lush grew up in Liverpool, singing in church and school choirs from the age of five. A career in music wasn't something she originally sought — it was her husband, bassist Terry Harris, who convinced her to step on stage. She never looked back. Connie made her debut at the Great British R&B Festival in Colne and has been touring the world ever since, having performed and recorded with Blues Shouter since 1993.
Her list of accomplishments is extensive: she has been voted Best Female Vocalist UK five separate times and twice named European Blues Vocalist of the Year by the French Blues Trophies Awards. Her career highlights include performances at New York's Bitter End, recording sessions at Cotton Row Studios in Memphis alongside Teenie Hodges (known for his work with Al Green), and a memorable set at BB King's Club on Beale Street. Perhaps most notably, Connie toured the UK with the legendary BB King himself, a run that culminated in a performance at London's Royal Albert Hall — a night she has described as both terrifying and thrilling. BB King himself once said of her, "That woman makes my heart sing."
While rooted in blues, Connie's musical influences run wide — from Aretha Franklin and Etta James to Bonnie Raitt, whom she has named as her single greatest inspiration. She's also an accomplished songwriter, having penned original material and even TV themes, alongside stints as a radio DJ on Jazz FM.
