David Robert Hole (30 March 1948) is a slide guitarist Australia known for its exciting style of playing rock & roll and blues music.
Hole was born in Heswall, Cheshire, England, and his family moved to Perth, Western Australia, when he was four.
He became interested in the blues after hearing the music of Muddy school friend of Waters albums when I was about six years old. He received his first guitar at age twelve and began to teach himself due to the lack of guitar teachers using discs Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, Blind Lemon Jefferson. Later he continued learning with discs Robert Johnson, Elmore James, and Mississippi Fred McDowell.
