The Newport Jazz Festival (in English: Newport Jazz Festival) is a jazz festival held in Newport, Rhode Island, United States since 1954. Newport has been the scene of some of the most remarkable performances of the jazz genre, including the famous solo in Miles Davis' Round Midnight (1955) and the equally famous sax solo d Paul in Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue Orchestra EllingGonsalveston Duke (1956), and live recordings as Miles & Monk at Newport. Ravi Coltrane and Tyner MceCoy Festival in Newport on 13 August 2005. The festival moved to the city of New York in 1972. From 1984 to 2008, was held under the title of JVC Jazz Festival, and from 2009, JVC ceded it to CareFusion.
