Blues hero Eric Gales plays here with his band, but as a closing act he adds Trombone Shorty, Cory Henry and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. We will see the songs 'You Don't Know The Blues', 'The Storm' and 'Catfish Blues' live at North Sea Jazz 2022.
Eric Gales can count greats such as Carlos Santana, Dave Navarro and Joe Bonamassa among his fans. The latter calls Gales 'perhaps the best guitarist in the world'. He himself remains modest about it: 'It has been established that I can play a little - a very little bit.' Anyone who has ever seen the left-handed virtuoso raging over the strings knows that that is an understatement of the highest order. But it is not false modesty, because the guitar hero sincerely believes that he can still learn. To challenge himself, Gales keeps pushing his boundaries. He previously worked with rap groups Prophet Posse and Three 6 Mafia, from his hometown of Memphis, and invited guests such as Doyle Bramhall II and Beth Hart to his 2019 album The Bookends. That same year, Gales won the Blues Music Award for Blues Rock Artist of the Year. His latest album Crown was recently released and was produced by Joe Bonamassa.
