Joseph William Perkins (July 7, 1913 – March 21, 2011), better known as Pinetop Perkins, was an American blues musician whose specialty was the piano. Until 2011 he remained one of the oldest active Delta blues musicians. He performed with some of the most influential blues artists in American blues history. He died on March 21, 2011 at his home in Austin, at the age of 971 shortly after winning his second Grammy, for Joined at the Hip: Pinetop Perkins & Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, in the section of 'best album by traditional blues', being the oldest artist to win said award.
