If you want to know what the Eric Tessmer Band is all about, this video is for you. We recorded nearly 3 hours of music at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse, New York on August 13th, 2011. This video presents a look at the jam session these guys put on at the "Blues, Brews and Bar-B-Que" joint on Willow Street. We cut it down as much as we could (and were willing to do). While the video is a little raw, the music is an experience to be shared by all.
As an added bonus, we close the video with Voodoo Chile and the band's signature move of ripping the strings off of their guitars. So fire up the grill, grab yourself a cold brew, turn up the volume, and enjoy a sick band from "Austin- Effin-Texas" tearing it up in Central New York. It's the best thing you'll do all day...
This video features elements of "Walk Around" and "Armadillo Strut," both Eric Tessmer Band originals as well as the aforementioned, "Voodoo Chile."
"Voodoo Chile" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and recorded in 1968 for The Jimi Hendrix Experience album Electric Ladyland. The song is Hendrix's longest studio recording and features additional musicians in what has been described as a "studio jam". "Voodoo Chile" is based on earlier blues songs and became the basis for Hendrix's "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", "one of Jimi Hendrix's best-known and influential songs ".
