Jeff Beck began his musical career with a brief stint at the Wimbledon Art School, London. He earned a reputation by supporting Lord Sutch, who helped him find work as the Yardbirds' lead guitarist following the departure of Eric Clapton. Beck remained in the Yardbirds for almost 2 years leaving them at the end of 1966 with the excuse of leaving the music.
