In July 2021, McCartney 3, 2, 1, a six-part black-and-white documentary by Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Zachary Heinzerling, was released on Hulu, in which ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and producer Rick Rubin disassemble classic Beatles songs into tiny pieces.
Paul McCartney, along with music producer Rick Rubin, analyzes the classic compositions of the Liverpool Four. The characters discuss the band's history and phenomenon, talk about the band's innovation, the 1970s rock scene, and McCartney's half-century career as a solo artist.
The film is made in the format of a long interview, in which two stars - Paul McCartney and super producer Rick Rubin will discuss the innovation of The Beatles, Paul's work with the cult band Wings and his almost half a century of solo career as a musician. Viewers will receive a ticket to the front row of a frank conversation between two superstars to find out Paul's innermost experiences, features of his work, hard work and other little secrets of mastery from a great musician. Naturally, they will also talk separately about the most iconic songs that came out from the pen of McCartney and his colleagues, and for many of us have become an integral part of the soundtrack of our lives.
