These songs were recorded direct from the television onto a reel to reel tape recorder and 46 years later the sound suffers but what a fantastic discovery. I'm unsure of the program ,possibly Top of the Pops . A youthful Small Faces from 1965 with their take on Sam Cookes "Shake" , The Miracles " You really got a hold on me" and their own " You better believe it". With the inclusion of "You better believe" I'd have put this recording as 1966 but the other artists on the reels ( Sandie ,Cilla ,Animals , Dave Clark 5 etc ) perform their 1965 hits. So here made public for possibly the first time in 46 years , the Small Faces live on the bbc.
