Big Daddy Wilson was born a little over 50 years ago in a small town in North Carolina called Edenton. At 16 years of age he left his studies and enlisted in the army, period in which he discovered the blues thanks to a concert in Germany.
From the beginning of the work, the feeling towards the roots of blues is notorious, sometimes due to the reduced ensemble present: acoustic guitar, harmonica and percussion. Wilson offers a mix of old titles plus compositions of his own, which can easily be taken as traditional blues tunes.
In this first episode of "Bluesnight" Big Daddy Wilson is the central figure. Through a short interview we get to know him a little better and the rest of the broadcast is filled with a live performance he gave at the Blues Cafe in Apeldoorn, Holland.
