JC Smith, a native of San Francisco, was the 2006 winner of the Bay Area Blues Society's West Coast Blues Award for Blues Band of the Year. He is an outstanding artist who stands out for his energy and charisma. Before playing guitar he was the drummer for the "Back to Back Blues Band". This band has released two CDs which were very well received by blues lovers and also received excellent reviews. In 2000, he emerges behind the drum kit, armed with a Gibson 335. J.C. He opens fire on the Blues as if he were being guided by masters like T-Bone Walker, Albert King and Johnnie Guitar Watson.
