It was in 1998 - from the ashes of the groups Dishumanized, Darkness Fire and Osgiliath - that Benighted was born. Since then, the group has explored the dark landscapes of the human psyche like few before them. And for good reason: its singer works in the psychiatric field. It is through death metal that Benighted found their means of expression. Music that grips the guts, carried by the impressive vocal abilities of Julien Truchan and the sonic ravages of Emmanuel Dalle (guitar), Pierre Arnoux (bass) and Kevin Paradis (drums).
Benighted thus builds a discography as dark as it is ambitious where each album paints the portrait of a character suffering from a psychological disorder. Thus, Ekbom, the group's 10th album, has as a catalyst Ekbom syndrome, also called parasitic infestation delirium. This pathology inspired the group to create compositions and imagery populated by teeming insects. Creepy.
