This is the first time that Larry Carlton, the man with the four Grammy Awards, performs in concert with a big band. No doubt, the guitarist is in his element. The fusion of his inimitable game and the concentrated strength of the big band of the SWR generates a real sonorous magic. On the program are titles that are as many milestones in the artist's career. The occasion to recall his passage in the Crusaders, his work in studio for Steely Dan, but also to summon influences like the blues and of course to revisit his hit, "Room 335". Warm tones and shimmering melodies, decades Larry Carlton is one of the great guitarists on the international stage.
The SWR Big Band has long been established as one of the best jazz ensembles in the world. Since 2002, the phalanx has been nominated four times to the Grammy Awards in various categories: exceptional soloist, better training and best arrangements. Magnus Lindgren is in charge of this program and has made the majority of arrangements. Outre-Rhin, this Swedish saxophonist / flautist is well known for his solo projects and his long-standing collaborations with Till Brönner and Nils Landgren.
