A musical highlight awaits all jazz and soul fans on Friday, May 29, at 8 pm in the "hr-Treff". At the invitation of the hr-Bigband, the two German soul singers Max Mutzke and Laith Al-Deen will be performing together for the first time, supported by the powerful playing of the jazz ensemble. With free admission, the musicians offer a two-hour live show on the hr stage.
This will be a summit meeting: Max Mutzke and Laith Al-Deen meet two of the most vocal and expressive singers of the German pop scene. Both stand for authentic, soul-saturated music and have been able to establish themselves permanently after big hits. In 2000 Laith Al-Deen celebrated his greatest success with "Pictures of You", followed four years later by Max Mutzke with "Can not Wait Until Tonight". Both artists have already peaked in concerts with the hr-Bigband: Laith Al-Deen 2011 at hr3 @ night and Max Mutzke recently in February 2015 in two sold-out shows at the Frankfurt hr-Sendesaal. Each time it was seen how these singers enjoy the rich sound of the 13 winds and how they can be inspired by the improvisations, even take risks themselves. With "MonoPunk", the backing band by Max Mutzke, one of the most powerful European rhythm groups provides for fat beats. Perfect conditions for a concert event of the special class.
