In 2002, New York singer Patti Austin released the album For Ella, featuring songs by the great Ella Fitzgerald, a record that was nominated for a Grammy. Austin retakes this project when the centenary of Ella's birth is fulfilled.

Patti Austin first stepped onto stage at age three, at the famed Apollo Theater in New York, with her godmother Dinah Washington. At age nine he traveled to Europe with director and arranger Quincy Jones, his godfather. Surrounded by veterans of the show from a young age, it was inevitable that she would go on stage with Sammy Davies Jr., Ray Bolger, or tour with Harry Belafonte.

In a short time, Austin became known as the undisputed queen of the world of sessions. From there, he went on to stardom. His first recordings were for Coral Records in 1965. Later he signed with Quincy Jones's record label, with which he recorded several albums, being one of the most famous The Real Me. Patti began her fruitful relationship with GRP Records in 1989, with bestsellers like Givin'In To Love.

In the last years, Patti has made numerous tours by Asia where it is very famous. In addition to conducting international concerts, he spends much of his time collaborating with various anti-AIDS associations.
