The Comet is Coming is a trio formed by Shabaka Hutchings (saxophone and effects), Danalogue (keyboards) and Betamax (drums). Together, they develop a cosmic jazz, full of krautrock, electronica and psyche inspirations. A spatial ambulation, sometimes in a slow motion without gravity and sometimes at the speed of light. A music in total freedom, very evocative, not unlike Sun Ra, Frank Zappa or Jimi Hendrix.

In a first album titled Channel the Spirits, the three musicians offer pieces with intriguing names - "Space Carnival" and "End of Earth" for example - and accentuate their little UFO side. One thing is sure: if the end of the world were to come, The Comet is Coming would be the ideal soundtrack.
