John Primer Born in Camden, Mississippi and based in Chicago, electric blues singer and guitarist John Primer made his first appearance in the 1970s at Windy City Blues Club Theresa. Muddy Waters 'ex-slideman Sammy Lawhorn taught him to play slide at the time he joined Willie Dixon and the Chicago Blues Stars band in 1979. He first played in Waters' band and Magic's Teardrops Slim before launching his solo career in early 1990.

Blues Bash Lowcountry
This two week event has the characteristic of having more than 100 shows and more than 59 local blues artists and musicians from the southeast. The city has a history deeply rooted in blues music. The Blue Bash has become one of Charleston's premier live music events, with live music on fourteen consecutive nights throughout Charleston and surrounding areas.
