SHANNON STREET
Shannon Street is well-known in Jackson, Tennessee, in the old business center of the United States. The first Street Music Festival on Shannon Street (then known as Shannon Street Blues Festival) was held in July 1992 at the West Tennessee Farmers Market and hosted by volunteers from Jackson Downtown Development Corporation. It was developed from research conducted at the Jackson-Madison County Library on Jackson's life and the harmonious and pioneering blusher, John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson.
