2-12-12: Beneficial concert that took place on December 12, 2012, at Madison Square Garden in New York. The concert was conducted in response to Hurricane Sandy, which devastated parts of the northeastern United States, Caribbean and Atlantic in late October 2012 and cost an estimated $ 71 billion in damages in the United States. The concert was broadcast live on television, radio, movie theaters and the Internet across six continents.
Proceeds from the event were collected by the Robin Hood Aid Fund for the benefit of hurricane victims in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
