This is a documentary film about a blues statesman, an "original" representative of the generation of men and women who have dedicated their lives playing Blues. A legacy of culture and musical style that will hardly be able to be repeated. Most have lived their lives with a love for this wonderful music and in many cases do not receive the notoriety that their white counterparts received. Little Sammy Davis epitomizes this story. Sammy is seventy and two harmonies from Winona, Mississippi, a bluesman who follows the tradition of great Jimmy Reed, Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters.
We explore where it comes from, how it has lived its life and we listen to the music that it interprets. Perhaps most importantly, it is trying to understand how the sadness of the blues has become a unique form of American art.
